What is vector conversion? We convert raster images to vector format by manually redrawing the image using a vector graphics program.
Raster vs Vector
Raster images are more common in general such as jpg, gif, and png, and are widely used on the web. Vector graphics are common for images that will be applied to a physical product.
Raster images are made of pixels and are limited to the number of pixels included in the file. This means you need to have the correct size image for each specific project.
Vector graphics are composed of objects based on mathematical calculations and they can be scaled to any size without losing quality. You can use the same vector graphic for all your projects.
Vector graphics are resolution-independent and can be printed at the highest resolution the output device allows.
Do I need my image in vector format?
Some companies such as specialty printers, sign companies, and engravers, require vector art for their process.
If your image is too small or low quality, it can be redrawn in clean vector format and the same graphic will work for many different uses.
Vector graphics can also be exported as high quality images for web use.
